Our Journey
Foundation & Market Entry
Founded Afrotriplex, a sourcing and trade facilitation company established to connect Japanese businesses directly with African producers. The company initially focused on agricultural commodities, including premium cocoa, coffee, and cashew nuts, while promoting transparent and sustainable supply chains.
Refining Our Mission
As market demand evolved, Afrotriplex strategically narrowed its focus to specialty coffee and natural honey, with a commitment to creating greater value for smallholder farmers, particularly in Burundi. The company began building long-term partnerships aimed at improving productivity, quality standards, and market access.
Licensed Coffee Exporter
Achieved official registration and licensing as a Burundian coffee exporter, enabling the company to introduce premium Burundian coffee to international markets and strengthen direct relationships between producers and global buyers.
Regional Expansion
Expanded operations into Côte d'Ivoire, establishing partnerships with local cashew farmers and cooperatives. This initiative focused on supplying high-quality cashew products to European markets while promoting responsible sourcing practices.
Birth of MIELA MAISON
The company evolved into MIELA MAISON, reflecting a renewed vision centered exclusively on premium, natural, and organically sourced products. The rebranding marked the beginning of a more specialized approach to international trade between Africa and Asia.
Expansion into Japan
Established operations in Japan and launched the import of premium natural honey from Burundi and Rwanda, alongside the introduction of Ingoma Coffee, an exceptional micro-lot coffee produced in limited quantities in Burundi. During the same year, MIELA MAISON expanded its export portfolio to include carefully selected Japanese whisky, green tea, and cosmetics, strengthening its role as a bridge between African producers and Japanese craftsmanship.
